This role is funded through the C&IoS Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF), Investment Priority: Supporting Local Business. Led by University of Plymouth, (Success Through Research, Innovation and Development Excellence) STRIDE seeks to provide RD&I bespoke business support advice to businesses across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (C&IoS). Working in collaboration with the Product Development Lead Consultant for STRIDE, this role is expected to contribute to the STRIDE project, its clients and the Product Development Programme (PDP) through a range of activities. You should have a first degree in engineering, manufacturing or a related field and preferably at least five years working in product design or manufacturing. You will have a broad knowledge of related manufacturing techniques and experience of designing engineering products from concept using computer-aided design tools. Experience of computational analysis techniques and physical prototype testing would be advantageous. There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport.
