Associate Attorney – Estate Planning & Tax Planning (0–3 Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an associate attorney with up to three years of estate planning experience who is eager to build a long-term career in sophisticated trusts and estates practice. This position offers significant collaboration, hands-on client interaction, and the opportunity to develop technical expertise while working alongside experienced attorneys. An existing book of business is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and implementation of estate plans

• Draft wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related documents

• Participate in client meetings alongside senior attorneys

• Conduct legal research and analyze estate and tax planning issues

• Collaborate with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals

• Continue developing technical knowledge through mentorship and ongoing education

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Admission to practice in New York

• 0–3 years of trusts and estates experience (or closely related practice)

• Excellent drafting and analytical skills

• Strong written and verbal communication

• Admission in New Jersey or Connecticut is a plus

• LL.M. in Taxation is a plus, particularly when paired with practical planning experience

Compensation & Benefits

Expected salary range: $100,000–$155,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Performance-based bonuses available.
