Patent Attorney

Profile

We are seeking a Patent Associate / Patent Attorney with 1–4 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically focused on patent drafting and prosecution. Recent law school graduates with prior experience as a patent agent are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with patent drafting and prosecution related to software, electronics, electromechanical technologies, and/or image processing inventions.


• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications involving technologies related to electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, computer engineering, or similar technical fields.


• Draft responses to USPTO Office Actions and coordinate examiner interviews.


• Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate (FTO), and patent validity analyses.


• Stay informed on developments in patent law and emerging technologies across relevant engineering disciplines.


• Collaborate and communicate effectively with inventors, corporate counsel, and international associates.


• Participate in client discussions and support business development initiatives when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


• Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).


• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


• Strong academic background.


• Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and practice areas to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
