A prestigious law firm seeks a highly skilled Litigation Career Associate Attorney with over 7 years of experience to join its litigation team. This role will involve engaging in a wide range of trial-related responsibilities, managing trial calendars, and overseeing long-term projects. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational abilities and will play an integral role in managing client communications, providing strategic insights, and assisting with the development of thought leadership materials.

Duties:

  • Lead trial teams and coordinate with practice managers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee and manage trial calendars, making sure tasks and deadlines are met.
  • Assist in staffing associates and coordinating resources with practice leaders.
  • Draft legal documents including briefs, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Handle discovery tasks, including overseeing e-discovery processes.
  • Provide support in witness preparation for depositions and trial preparation.
  • Prepare client communications and assist with crafting business development materials such as newsletters, presentations, and pitches.
  • Manage long-term projects, ensuring they align with the firm's strategic goals.
  • Foster team efficiency by supporting new lawyer integration and helping them settle into their roles.
  • Work closely with cross-department teams to ensure optimal client service and project delivery.
  • Assist in driving innovative solutions to enhance client outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience.
  • Exceptional legal writing skills, with a strong ability to draft clear and persuasive documents.
  • Extensive experience in handling discovery processes, including e-discovery.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex information.
  • Experience in preparing clients, witnesses, and other team members for trial proceedings.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, meeting deadlines, and providing high-quality client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of Oregon or eligible for admission.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Oregon (or willingness to obtain licensure).

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong project management abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • High-level interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior attorneys, clients, and other professionals.
  • Proficiency with legal software and e-discovery tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
