Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking a talented Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join their Structured Credit CLO team. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of a dynamic team within a leading structured finance practice. The role provides significant client interaction and involvement in complex and high-profile transactions, including collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), securitization, asset-based lending, and other sophisticated financial structures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to demonstrate both legal expertise and entrepreneurial spirit.

Duties:

  • Participate in deal teams on CLO transactions and other structured finance matters.
  • Advise clients, including international investment banks and asset managers, on complex financial transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documentation related to CLOs, asset-based lending, and securitizations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to provide strategic legal counsel.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of financial and regulatory issues.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure effective communication throughout transactions.
  • Support the development and growth of the practice through business development activities.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in structured finance, with a focus on CLOs, securitization, or asset-based lending.
  • Strong understanding of financial products and capital markets.
  • Experience with drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with clients and senior attorneys.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar, or the ability to obtain admission promptly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of structured finance, CLOs, securitization, and asset-based lending.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Client-focused approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
