Job Overview

A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced mid to senior-level associate to join its Employment Group. This position will support cross-border and global employment matters. The ideal candidate will have international counseling experience, though this is not a strict requirement. The role involves conducting employment diligence, advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions, drafting and negotiating employment agreements, and providing counsel on employee terminations and reductions in force. The associate will also advise on restrictive covenants and employee mobility issues. This is a hybrid position with opportunities for growth in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Conduct employment diligence and provide guidance on employment issues in corporate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Advise on reductions in force, employee terminations, and workforce restructuring.
  • Draft restrictive covenants and advise on employee mobility.
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to emerging companies on employment law matters.
  • Collaborate with offices across the firm’s global employment practice.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in employment counseling (domestic and/or international).
  • Experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where applying.
