Job Overview:
A law firm based in Chicago is seeking a skilled Corporate Insurance Associate Attorney with 4-7 years of experience in the insurance industry, focusing on reinsurance transactions, particularly in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private asset deals. The ideal candidate will join an energetic team representing various financial institutions including insurers, reinsurers, private equity sponsors, banks, and investment managers in complex transactional matters.

Duties:

• Handle reinsurance transactions, particularly those involving M&A and private asset deals.
• Work with a diverse group of clients, including financial institutions, private equity firms, and insurance industry players.
• Manage complex deal structures with a focus on reinsurance and regulatory matters.
• Maintain a client-centric approach, offering strategic guidance on deal execution.
• Take on increasing responsibility in business development and client relationship management.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys in providing counsel on high-stakes transactions and industry regulations.
• Work autonomously while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in corporate insurance, particularly in reinsurance transactions.
• Strong understanding of insurance regulations, particularly in M&A and private asset transactions.
• Ability to manage multiple complex deals and work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-oriented approach.
• Creative problem-solving ability and initiative to handle independent casework.
• Proven ability to maintain a client-focused, results-driven mindset.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar and good standing.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Illinois.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of insurance law and reinsurance transactions.
• Strong deal management and transaction negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with M&A structures and private equity transactions.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
